Oxford Fertility Unit

Why Oxford Fertility Unit?

Oxford Fertility Unit is very proud to have assisted in the conception of over 5000 babies since being founded in 1985. Today, the Unit is at the forefront of this rapidly advancing area of medical science. Here are just some of the reasons why…

Established record of success

  • We have a proven track record as demonstrated by our excellent pregnancy success rates.
  • Our state-of-the-art facilities are staffed by a highly experienced, multi-disciplinary team of doctors, scientists, nurses and administrative staff.
  • We have a unique partnership with both the University of Oxford and John Radcliffe Hospital which delivers leading edge research into reproductive medicine.
  • We offer a wide range of treatments including In-vitro maturation (IVM), which is an increasingly effective alternative to IVF, particularly for women with polycystic ovaries. In 2007 we delivered the first IVM babies in the UK.

Care and support

  • We treat patients with respect, care and understanding and our patient-centred approach is supported by counselling and ethical expertise.
  • Our staff are always available to offer support and to answer your queries. We also have a doctor on-call 24hrs to respond to urgent problems.
  • We understand that the cost of fertility treatment can add further strain to an already stressful situation and therefore try to maintain a competitive fee structure.

World class service

  • Patient safety is paramount. The Unit has a comprehensive quality management system in place and was awarded ISO 9001: 2000 Quality Management Certification in 2004.
  • The main Unit is located at the Institute of Reproductive Sciences, with easy access to the M40, A34 and good rail links.
  • We now offer patients living in the Reading area the opportunity to have some appointments at The Berkshire Independent Hospital.
  • We aim to give you your first appointment within six weeks of referral.
  • The Unit is regulated by the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA) which makes regular inspections and maintains a register of all treatment cycles.
